New Vice Principal

The Governing Council of St Francis College of Education, Hohoe, has finally appointed a new Vice Principal for the College after 3 years of the College operating without a Vice Principal. This was after the search committee advertised the vacant position in August 2019. Mr. Sylvester Korsi Mawusi is the new Vice Principal for the renowned College of Education located in the Volta Region.

The College for the past 4 years had no Vice Principal due to the absence of Governing Council. Until his appointment, Mr. Mawusi was the Head of Science Department and Director of Research at the SDA College of Education. He has considerable teaching experience having been a Science Tutor at Holy Child College of Education from 1993 to 1996 and SDA College of Education for 21 years. He is also the Centre Coordinator for the University of Cape Coast Outreach Degree Programme.

Mr. Sylvester Korsi Mawusi had his Secondary Education at Koforidua Secondary Technical School where he completed in 1984. He then proceeded to then St Francis Training College to obtain his Teacher Cert “A” in 1987. He was a member of the Millitary Hall at Franco. He obtained Bachelor of Science Education in 1998 from University of Cape Coast. He further obtained a Master of Art in Education Administration and Master of Philosophy degree in Science Education in 2012 from the University of Education, Winneba.

Mr Mawusi expressed his delight at the new appointment and thank God for the opportunity granted him to come and serve his Alma mater. He stated that I left FRANCO in 1987 and am humbled to be going back to serve. I look forward to serving the Principal, Management and the entire FRANCO community to the best of my ability to enable the College achieve its goals.

He also added that it his prayer and hope that the College community will continue to work in unity and cooperation to support the Principal realize his vision of making the College the best in the country in terms of research and academic.
