The Governing Council of St. Francis College of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Mawuloe Koffi Kodah as the substantive Principal of the College, effective August 1, 2026, following a successful interview process conducted by the Council’s Search Committee.

Professor Kodah succeeds Dr. Christopher Dewodo, who served diligently as Acting Principal from September 2025 to August 2026. Dr. Dewodo took over from Dr. Adwoa Kwegyiriba, whose exemplary tenure also laid a strong foundation for academic excellence.

Professor Mawuloe Koffi Kodah is an accomplished academic, administrator, and scholar with a distinguished record in teaching, research, and institutional leadership. With over two decades of teaching and research experience, Professor Kodah rose through the academic ranks to become full professor at the university of cape coast in 2022.  

Prior to his appointment, he served in key leadership roles at the University of Cape Coast, including Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Head of the Department of French. He holds a PhD in French with a specialization in discourse and literary analysis from the University of Cape Coast.

Professor Kodah is a prolific scholar, and has authored and co-authored several books, book chapters, and peer-reviewed articles. His research addresses language, literature, democracy, postcolonial studies, and sustainable development in Africa. He has presented and delivered keynote addresses at conferences across Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Professor Kodah is also a dedicated mentor. He has supervised and examined numerous master’s and doctoral theses, and has nurtured many young academics into leadership roles.

As Principal, Professor Kodah is committed to fostering unity, trust, diligence, and excellence. His goal is to create a conducive and inspiring environment where staff and students thrive, and where the College continues to grow as a center for producing competent, professional, and values-driven teachers for national and global impact.
